Abstract

Fitria Maharani A.1610475 Farming Institutional Analysis of Pamelo (Citrus maxima (Burm.) Merr.) (The Case of Farmer Groups in Magetan Regency, East Java Province). Under the guidance of Wini Nahraeni and Siti Masithoh. This study aims to analyze the inhibiting factors and driving factors as well as the institutional strategy of farmer groups in developing pamelo farming. The research was conducted in Tambakmas, Duwet and Belotan Villages, Sukomoro and Bendo Districts, Magetan Regency, East Java Province. The research location was chosen purposively with the consideration that this location is a center for the development of pamelo. The method of determining the respondents was carried out by simple random sampling for 37 farmers and purposive sampling to collect the data for the management (chairman, secretary, and treasurer) totaling 21 people. Data were analyzed by descriptive explanatory and Force Field Analysis (FFA). The results showed that there were 18 inhibiting factors and 12 institutional driving factors in pamelo farming developing. The results of the FFA calculation show that the total weight value of the inhibiting factor is 5.53 consisting of 4.60 weaknesses and 0.93 threats, lack of access to information is the main obstacle and pandemic is a factor that has very little effect on farming development. The total value of the driving factor weight is 8.91 consisting of 5.05 strength and 3.86 opportunity, diversity of accessions is the main driving factor and the existence of the Magetan Pamelo Association is a factor that has very little influence on farming development. Strategic recommendations that can be carried out are increasing farmers' awareness of the importance of the role of groups, increasing access to information to various related supporting institutions, collaborating with supporting institutions to obtain objective and actual information, preserving various accessions of pamelo, and establishing a marketing section for pamelo can increase access, information and bargaining position of farmers.
