Abstract

Forest resources are very important for the Indonesian economy, as well as for livelihood of communities whose depend on to the forest and many parties which is interested to the forest. So that land use issues among many parties became main problem in forest management conflicts, including concessions, plantations, protected areas and subsistence forest communities. The research aims to describe characteristic of conflict, to analyse impact of conflict to forest management, and to design model of conflict management based on cultural community. The research used qualitative approach and Case study method. Informants of the research are Dayak Iban Community in West Kalimantan, and Kasepuhan Community in West Java, Indonesia. The result of the research found that there are many type of conflict in West Kalimantan and West Java .In conflict situation, it is required many prerequisite conditions that must be achieved to manage the conflict. It should be established a collaborative management between government and communities, putting the community as a partner and local government intervention to provide a way poverty ou
