Abstract

The research was carried out on August to December, 2018. The aim of research is to know the Influence of Feeding of Different Type Against the Growth and Mortality of Daphnia magna. The experimental design of research is Completely Randomized Design with 3 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments are treatment A (quail droppings), treatment B (the water of pond), and treatment C (Spirulina sp). Daphia magna reared for 12 days and given a feed of different type at every 8 am.The parameters observed include the growth rate, mortality, and water quality. The results of research showed that the feeding of different type not significantly different between the treatments (P>0.05) against the growth rate of population peak and mortality of Daphia magna. The highest average of the growth rate of population peak is 0.17 % and the lowest average of mortality is 9.368%. Water quality during the research (temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, and ammonia) on the treatments is still within the limits of tolerance to culture a Daphnia magna. Key words: Daphnia magna, quail droppings, the water of pond, Spirulina sp.
